Maaike van Cruchten

Bio

Hello, I'm Maaike. I work as a freelance video-maker: directing, filming and editing. The past years I also enjoyed doing illustration and animation. I like to experiment with different techniques, both digital and analog. 

Besides that I'm a lecturer at the Interactive Media Design School in Amsterdam, designing and teaching classes in audio visual design, motion design and information design. 

Expertise

For me it's crucial to develop a strong conceptual idea and start prototyping and making early in the design proces. I love to sketch and work with other people generating ideas.

Things I'm good at: concept development, working in a team, sketching, video-editing.

Themes and subjects that often come up in my work and the way I work: education, learning by doing, children, prototyping, datavisualisation, infographics, graphic culture and storytelling.
